Salmonid Species

The Mattole River is home to three genetically unique species of salmonids-Chinook salmon, coho salmon and steelhead-all of which are listed as threatened under the Federal Endangered Species Act.  Coho salmon are additionally listed as threatened under the State Endangered
Species Act.
