Population and Habitat Monitoring

Salmonid Population Monitoring: Trends in salmonid abundance and distribution guide restoration and recovery efforts. MSG monitors salmonids at different lifecycle stages to assess fish health, life history strategies, and population trends.

Habitat Monitoring: Habitat conditions affect the survival and growth of salmonids.  MSG monitors water quality parameters and habitat attributes throughout the watershed to assess habitat conditions and document spatial distribution of these habitats.  Juvenile Distribution and Abundance Surveys occur simultaneously with habitat monitoring.
