The Mattole Salmon Group's AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Project members
for this term, Dave (above) and Sam, have already been hard at work! Snorkel dives to
monitor juvenile salmon populations and LWD effectiveness surveys are just a few
of the many projects in which the AmeriCorps will play a major role through August 2012.

The Mattole Salmon Group (MSG) is a community based non-profit organization, that has been working in the Mattole River watershed for thirty years to restore salmon populations to self sustaining levels in the Mattole River watershed.
Today, the MSG conducts a series of Direct Enhancement, Salmonid Population Monitoring, Habitat Monitoring, Instream Habitat Enhancement, and Education and Outreach programs to meet this goal.
